    quarantine question

    Hi all,

My first post here. I've got a couple of BPs coming in a few weeks, but first I'm getting my husbandry issues all sorted out. I think I've got a handle on everything regarding temps, etc, but the one thing that I'm not sure about is the quarantine process, although I've been reading various posts about it.

The only other snake I have is a male BCI, about 1.5 years old. He was captive bred from a reputable breeder and is in excellent health. Since he's in good health and was CB, is it really necessary to quarantine the BPs that are coming? I've got the space to do it, but would rather not if possible.

    Thank you for your advice.

    Best,
    Payton

you should always qt, its not the animals in your collection already that is the worry but the new animals that your bringing in. no matter who you get them from there is a chance that it could have something that you dont want to pass on to your own collection. so while they are in qt its a time to see if you notice any signs of illness in them.
