Who is your favorite BP and why?
My favorite BP is our oldest and biggest normal boy named Buddy. Long Story short Buddy was a rescue of sorts. His original owner was an a**hole, plain and simple. He brought him back to the shop where he bought him(where I buy supplies and crickets) after not feeding him for god knows how long. He stopped eating because of husbandry issues. And then crushed his head between tank top and screen!!!!!! He brought him back to the shop because in his own words " This snake is broke, he won't eat and his head is a mess, I don't want him anymore!" This all happened infront of my then 7 yr old daughter. He is now over 4 yrs old and almost 4 feet, eats frozen thawed like a pro.
What makes him special however is how he reacts to my daughter. When she picks him up and takes him out to hang and do homework he curls up in her lap and rests his head on her shoulder and will sit like this for hours! When she opens his tub, he comes right out and slithers up her arm. I swear he knows its her and knows that she is the reason he is still here. She was the one who said lets offer him a small fuzzy if he takes it he has the will to live and we will take him! Well he did and she was right.
So in the spirit of the Holidays lets here your stories! He was the one who really started it all for us!

Re: Who is your favorite BP and why?
I don't have any rescue stories, and don't really have a favorite. For a while Snickets was my favorite, because Micron had bitten me. Now, Micron is developing his own little personality and he's such a love bug! When I open his tub he always comes out, if I put him in my lap he stays there, when we have him around our necks, he's super chill. I think that's cuz of the warmth though. Snickets never wants to come out and is always on the go! She's a sweetheart though, and I'll always love her.
Wiggles, the pin, is pretty cool too. He's still a skidish baby though, so time will tell. He's so pretty though!

My favorite has to be my little chunky monkey female. She is active in her cage and out. Loves being held. Has very unique marks on her, From her lines to the hearts she has on her I love. I have had a special spot for her since the first time I had to assist feed her.

Without a shadow of a doubt. My sweet girl Boo, who is a normal and my first Ball. She is the most laid back snake. Likes, or at least seems to like snugglin with mom on the couch.

Re: Who is your favorite BP and why?
For me it's a three way tie.
1- Casey, a male normal. He was my first snake and what led me into this world of addiction.
2- Sirona, a CH female. She has such a great personality. She was a tiny 58 grams when I got her. She gets more beautiful every day and she has a kick butt personality. Very friendly and wants to be in the middle of everything. Can't wait to finally breed her next season (sigh...a whole nother year...)
3- Greta Garbo, my Albino female. She is so docile and a great animal to take out to convert snake haters into fans.
Honestly though, I love each and every one of my snakes and all their uniqueness. With the exception of one, she is the Devil and if she wasn't my biggest breeder female... *mutters to self, evil witch of a snake, should have been a blood python for as much blood as she likes to draw*
1.1 crazy dogs
4.3 even crazier cats
2.2 bps
2.0 Off Track Thoroughbreds
0.3 human kids
1.0 Boyfriend who puts up with the craziness

Re: Who is your favorite BP and why?
I have three favorites as well.
1 - Is my tiny baby boy Yakul, my low white pied. He is such a little sweetheart!
He almost didn't make it to me. I ordered him from a store in California and he was shipped FedEx overnight. It so happened the night they sent him it got wicked cold here, like 28. I was sitting on my couch right next to the front door waiting for him. I heard the FedEx truck, and heard someone come onto the deck. Then there was one tiny, faint knock and the person started to walk off. I opened the door, because I knew I had to sign, but she just kept on walking. So I thought maybe she left the box on the truck and was getting it. Nope, she just drove away. So now I'm really confused, I turn to walk back into the house, and tripped on the little box clearly marked "Live Reptile". I brought it inside and opened it up, and there is my tiny half-frozen little BP. I took him out and snuggled him up in the palm of my hand, because I have very warm hands. It took him a long time, but eventually he uncurled enough to wrap around my hand a few times, then he just sat and looked. After about 30 minutes, I took him to his nice, warm tub ready and waiting, then I had to pry him off of me! He's doing fine, not even an RI from his experience. But I tell you what, that ignorant FedEx lady, if I had not been sitting right next to that door, I would never have known he was there and he would have died, even with the heat pack. Stupid lady, just because she doesn't like reptiles I guess?
2 - My big male Granite het pied Nago. Nago is my snake no question. He was very nervous when we got him, he's one of Adam's babies. He would huff when you touched him. This scared my husband to death. But I knew he was all bark and no bite, so I picked him up anyway. Now he's my baby all the way. I just love him to pieces, he's so calm and good natured.
3 - My very big het pied girl Toki. She is also one of Adam's babies. She eats like a horse and is growing like she'll never stop. Both her and Nago are great feeders, no questions asked. She has a lovely reduced pattern. and I can't wait to prove her out, I'll bet she's going to make lovely pieds.

Re: Who is your favorite BP and why?
First let me say....I love them all....each has a different personality that s quite funny.
My favorite has to be our normal who I might add was our first...Elizabeth.
She is such a "person". It is hilarious!! She would rather be out of her cage...you walk in and she sticks her head out to see you. She is a total snuggler and loves the bottom of her jaw rubbed so she will move it back and forth across your finger. She has special little spots she loves on each of us. My son it is around his neck....the hubby around his wrist... and on my chest. She stares at the computer when she is on it...as well as plays video games with my son....and she is just content with this. Not to mention when we clean her cage she burrows in and makes little tunnels everywhere...it is sooooo funny. She knows the days of the week....(i swear).....we can get mice and have them downstairs on Saturdays, we will walk upstairs to her cage...and she is out in strike mode as if to say...ok cmon...where are they?? She will also come up to your nose and give you little snakey kisses...or she will bump noses. It truly is just precious. LOVE HER!
Henry my bee is starting to come around more and more. Samantha is still very young...but holy cows....she has an ATTITUDE!! I don't think that it is ever going to change. She is not scared of anything and just acts like..."bring-it-on....I can take ya".

Re: Who is your favorite BP and why?
My favorite has to be my big girl DARWIN.
SHe was bought as a male for a christmas present for me a fair few years back. Wouldnt eat for the pet shop but they let my gilrfriend take her as they belived i could get it feeding as i had other snake experience. DIdnt eat for 3 months then escaped in my flat (which was attatched to a farm house). After a few weeks of searching i put a bowl of water out and around it i sprinkled flour to see if he made any trips in the night. Next morning i was amazed to find all the flour had been eaten and the floor was full of little white mouse poo's. So i set a trap to catch the mouse and as i put it on the floor darwin came upto me and he had put on some good weight from eating the mice in under the floors in my flat.Unfortunately he ended up with RI and a huge cut wich was infdected but after treatment he pulled through.
Never missed a feed now unless shes breeding. Ill always refer to her as a him and hes the tamest Snake you could ever meet.

Re: Who is your favorite BP and why?
My favorite BP has to be Toby, the yearling pastel... he was my second snake, and I got him at the Cow Palace Expo in May (this year). It's hard to explain, but I just fell in love with him immediately! He has the sweetest, most gentle temperament, and wouldn't even bite if you'd soaked your hand in mouse blood. He also does a lot of goofy things, like wrapping around my glasses whenever he gets the chance, and hiding in funny places. I never really believed snakes could have endearing personalities, until I met my boy Toby. He is far from my most valuable snake financially, but definitely the most valuable in sentiment.
P.S. Of course I love all of my snakes, and they each have unique qualities... Mona is a close second-place to Toby, in terms of personality.
