Re: what mixes well with vanilla

At Marc Baileys I had the opportunity to see the pastel vanilla as well as the super vanilla in person. Both were incredible, and the reason why I had to pick up a sweet vanilla girl when I was there. There were probably some other great combos that I am missing as well.

Re: what mixes well with vanilla

I'm bringing this thread back because I was wondering about the mojave vanilla. Are there any more pictures out there??

I have a light mojave with a blushed out head that just threw 4 babies from a regular mojave dad. The BEL that hatched is very white with almost no grey. The 1.2 normals that hatched are also light with blushed out heads.

I'm beginning to think that mom is a vanilla mojave. No way to know unless I grew up the babies and breed them - is this hobby fun or what??

Re: what mixes well with vanilla

I looked at this thread about 10 times before buying some of these, so I just popped back in to post a picture of a 100 gram vanilla pastel...pictured next to a rather nice pastel (het clown).

The pastel is actually one of the nicer ones I've seen (very little orange to turn brown later), but the picture had to be a little dark so that the vanilla pastel didn't look blown out. The difference is unreal.

Here's a head shot of a 1,500 gram male vanilla. Very ghostly in appearance and the pattern on the back is perfectly clean.

The best combo I've seen so far is the Vanilla Cream (Fire/Vanilla). That combo was the single reason I added a Vanilla to the collection this year. It's smoking!

Oh yeah...my favorite two gene combo by far. I have bumblebees (one of the most popular hands down) so I have nothing against them, but when push comes to shove, I think the Vanilla Cream is in another class.

Bumblebees look cool as babies, but the Vanilla Cream will have awesome color even as an adult. Just imagine what pastel or Super Vanilla (or both) will do to that. So even thinking long term, I think the Vanilla Cream really holds it's own in terms of combo potential too.

I'm hoping to produce a few in 2011...maybe a pastel version too.

Oh yes the vanilla cream is by far my favorite & in my future plans! My vanilla female is growing and my fire male is just waiting for her to be of age

If only there was a morph that had red pigmnet and called the strawberry ball, then you could make a vanilla, chocolate and strawbeery combo and call it the neopolitan ball.

Best of luck. My vanilla is a hatchling so I've got a ways to go (the vanilla is a female). My Fire should be ready to go next year but I've got to get him eating again.

Re: what mixes well with vanilla

I just love how the pattern is so whacked out. That was a very unexpected development since neither the fire nor vanilla are pattern morphs. Hope it proves out as more are produced.
