I could not find anything on www.faunaclassifieds.com, but since you did not furnish his name thats all i could check. As far as the price thats way low for a dumeril boa.Its like $60 just to ship it.So that leaves maybe $40 for the snake.Do you have his full name to check or ask him for referances.

Well i looked his site over and a few things bother me.He has been around since 07 and nothing about him shows up on faunaclassifieds.Next he only shows a P.O. box for his address. Then his prices are way low for his salmontines and the dum in my opinion.Last you gotta watch the ads on kingsnake they allow some scammers to sell there.I am not saying this guy is one but just giving my opinion .

This is a reeee****culous statement. So now it's a bad thing that he "doesn't show up on faunaclassifieds". Maybe he never "scammed" anyone so that's why he "doesn't show up on faunaclassifieds". Maybe like someone else Big Gunns knows well he tells his buyers not to post any "good guy" threads over there because even those type of threads can be hijacked by the fauna "experts".

Another reee****culous statement. He only has a "PO box". Maybe he doesn't want to get robbed. That type of thing does happen in this business if you know anything about it. Ever hear the story about how some people came in through Pete Kahls sky light with a knotted rope? Maybe the Bob Clark rip off of the original Albino balls. How about the Vin Russo robbery where he looked out his window and someone was coming out his basement just below him? This is just a few, but Big Gunns knows more, even personal ones. If at all possible, BG would suggest everyone use a PO Box to be safe, and never EVER let a stranger know where you keep your valuable animals.

One more thing, maybe his prices are low because he's scared to death they're gonna be worthless in a couple months. Who knows?

BG does agree with Joey in this respect. There are a lot of "scammers" out there, but if you're gonna judge this guy by these criteria, then you could judge a lot of honest people Big Gunns knows.

Big Gunns would have come down on even his number one fan for statements like these. It's totally "out of line" to judge this guy for these reasons. TOTALLY!!!!!!

He may turn out to be a "scammer", but you can't judge him by these reasons. The fact that he "doesn't show up on Fauna" is a good thing in BG's opinion....not a bad thing.

I agree with Big Gunns, especially about the Fauna thing.

Have you talked with him via E-Mail? You can talk to him about why his animals are at such a low price and see what kind of experience he talks with. He's FedEx Certified and has good terms and conditions.

Talk to him a little bit and make your decision off of that. He seems profession for the most part on his website (maybe not 100% web building tech savvy but there's nothing wrong with that.)

i bought a dumeril from a local breeder for 50 bucks and he is as healthy as can be so his price has nothing to do with anything. like BG said he may just want to sell them before the market goes down.(lets hope it dont) or before congress passes that stupid snake ban(lets do our part to stop it)

Just to add to this about the pricing. I have noticed that the bigger the breeder, the bigger the price. I think smaller/newer breeders have to start off low because they don't have the respect or reputation of a BHB type establishment.

On the other hand he could be skimping on shipping costs. I just got a couple snakes shipped in the month of December.... without a heat source in the package.

yup. It's good ol' branding. "This is my NERD-produced pastel, I'll sell him to you for $10000" (not knocking NERD here, just knocking people's impressionability based on branding)

Then again, you do have a measure of safety when you purchase from someone with a very well-known reputation to uphold. You can be pretty much guaranteed that you won't be "scammed" if you buy from someone who relies on their reputation. You can't be guaranteed that if you buy from someone that no one has ever heard of before.
