Well my uneducated suggestions would be;

Fix the heat so it isn't constantly aggravating it would be the main one I think. (if that is the cause - measuring it will be the only way to be sure )

Changing the papertowels quite frequently to keep the area as clean as possible.

Apply neosporin ( without painkillers ) to try and help prevent infection.

BUT

The first thing to do is call the vet and get their recomendations and follow them over mine any day.
