    Re: feeding mode??????

She could easily take a small rat. I would start her on one of those a week. My small rats weigh between 70-80 grams. 3 adult mice is about the same amount of food but feeding one prey item is easier on you and the snake. It takes a lot of energy to strike and constrict 3 mice every 5 days rather than one rat once a week.

    Re: feeding mode??????

    Hi,

Normally people who are feeding multiple prey items do it in one sitting - they wait until the snake adjusts its jaws and "resets" so to speak then offer the second prey item.

I'm not sure I would disturb the snake if it had been several hours since it ate - especially if you feed in a seperate container or anything.
