Re: Pet santa at the mall

btw, I hope you can pardon my humor... but every time I read the subject I can't help myself... so here goes. I don't think I could handle petting Santa... unless he had a fake mustache and beard and looked like Ashton Kutcher or Taye Diggs

Re: Pet santa at the mall

That was asking for trouble Shawn...trouble for us(snake keepers) and possibly you that is. This is what happens. Somehow it gets in the paper, or on the news...not hard since you were out in public. Your neighbor sees it and is scared to death because she lives next door and thinks your snake will eat her and her kids. She goes to the next township meeting with the newspaper article and presto chango....there's a new law in your town.

We should never bring our snakes out in public. Unfortunately, in "the land of the free" that's the way it needs to be nowadays. People just don't understand....and they NEVER WILL!!!!!!!

Re: Pet santa at the mall

BG . I understand totally what you are saying. this was planned, and even became a question and answer session with many at the mall. all bases were covered beforehand, even security knew we were coming in with her. as far as being a buz kill , never . I understand the concerns . so no offence taken here.

CA cowgirl , I am always up for a chuckle, specially one with a dirty little grin

like I said I understand BG's point and am not about to argue because in some ways I agree with some of what he is saying . On another note how else are we supposed to teach the Gen Pop that these animals are not the monsters they are taught they are

Re: Pet santa at the mall

One thing I can say for Shawn is that if any of his animals are in a public setting it is set up in advance. The best thing is that it always turns into an educational experience. I've seen people come up that were scared to death of Fantasy and when they walked away they were "petting" her and thanking Shawn for the info. He's done quite a bit to help the image of the hobby locally. Great pic, btw!
