    Provent-A-Mite not available in NY??

I recently purchased PAM from Pro Products. I just received this email :

    Dear Ashlea,

Unfortunately, Provent-a-mite is not available in NYS. The NYS DEC has
decided to refuse to honor our EPA Federal section 18 label.

Due to the manner in which NYS conducts itself regardless of any state or
federal laws, we have decided not to deal with their underhanded tactics, so
will not register the product for sale in NY.

We can sell the product in all other states, but for the above reason, we
    can't offer it in NY.

We have canceled your order and your credit card has not been charged.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

I am waiting on a response to how I can get the product

    Ah,

    Sadly that's true.

There is no legal way to get it iirc.

The only alternative I ever saw was to order a different product.

Anyone know if Black Knight is legal in NYS?

So I am not able to even buy it from someone else and ship it here? I don't think I can trust another company

    Hi,

I don't think so - any company that shipped it would be breaking the law.

Just a second, let me get my flame retardant long johns on.....

OK, if it were me, I'd go to Walmart and buy a can of this.
    It's in the camping section...

I've been using it for years.

OK, I'm ready. Let the flames ensue...

    Hi,

I'm trying to find alternatives mentioned in old threads - problem is (as noted by the poster above ) they tend to turn into flame fests.

    Like this one for example.

Just for future reference, How do you use that product safely with snakes if it is an eye irritant. Strictly curious.

I spray it on the cage and let it dry. Do not spray it on the snake... Not unlike another product that you can't get.
