When you say tub I am assuming that you are using a rack system. I had a similar problem in the winter in NY, so what I did was first of all is switch the substrate from paper towel to aspen bedding, next every time I change water I used warm water which will fog up the front of the tub pretty nicely, then I will mist substrate 3 days later which happens to be the day before I feed. This seems to keep them happy for me and shedding in 1 piece. Hope this helps.

What are you using to measure the humidity? Maybe the gauge went bad?

Re: how to keep humidity up
less ventilation, more surface area of water, more heat
and chances are your gauge isn't acurite. i feel all the store bought stuff is junk anyways, pay attention to your snake, their the best humidity gauge there is for a snake keeper. the amount and length of time condensation on your tubs walls is a good gauge also

Move the water closer to the warm side and this will increase humidity better during winter.

Re: how to keep humidity up
Get a humidifier, winter is a lot drier than summer for most of the country. I have two humidifiers, one for the snake room and one for the rest of the house. It gets so dry in the winter here, my wife will get nose bleeds and a very sore throat without a humidifier.

Best advice. I know my humidity is too low when Snickets moves to her cold hide. The UTH will dry out the substrate. I spray water, and the next day she'll be back in there.
