Help! Wobbling albino?
I've had this baby 'bino girl for a few months. She's always had the head shake that I've seen in some of my other BPs when they're being fed, but hers has always seemed more pronounced. Just now, when I gave her a hopper mouse, she shook a bit as she approached it, then struck and constricted normally; but then, as she began to eat, her head started to REALLY shake back and forth! This went on for almost a minute. I don't have any snakes that are genetically prone to wobble, but this sure looks like a wobble to me. The snake behaves normally the rest of the time. Before I flee shrieking to the vet, does anyone have any experience with albinos behaving this way? Any reassurance? I don't know what to think. Thanks so much!!

Re: Help! Wobbling albino?
When I read what you wrote it makes me think of the bobbing around they do when they are all tensed up and ready for a strike. Its like their heads are bobbing to their heartbeat or something.
Then during the swallowing I have some snakes that almost look like a metronome when they are constricting their muscles around to actually manuever the rat down their throats.
Video like mentioned would help alot. If it is wobbles though there is nothing the vet can really do for you. If its eating and acting normal the rest of the time I wouldn't dwell on it too much.

Mine does this before and during feeding as well -- he twitches back and forth rhythmically sometimes, and sometimes it's just random twitches. He does this when he is eating, or when he wants to eat and has the "death stare" on something. I think it's just a symptom of tensing up to strike and using the muscles to force prey down their throats, as Spaniard said.

My lesser does it. and depending how hungry he is, he will do it more. I always just figured it was him getting all excited to eat. I never noticed it when I was raising him up, but he was eating every week, when he started breeding, I only feed him every 2-3 weeks and that when I noticed it.
