If they are mites, you can kill them by covering the snake with cooking oil. I don't like prevent-a-mite. The product has killed a few snakes that I'm aware of.

There's plenty of information about mites on the net, you didn't need to spend good money for treating mites.

BTW, what did the vet give you for the treatment?
