Foil tape under flexwat?
So this spring I started building a cage for my BP... it's been sitting for the past several months since initial temperature tests weren't warming my cage up significantly. I finally have time to work on it again, and I'm wondering if it is safe to use aluminum foil tape under the flexwatt in order to force to heat upward instead of letting the wood absorb it? Does anyone have any experience with that?

My racks are built this way, and I have yet to experience any issues with it.

Is the tape directly touching the flexwat? How do you secure the flexwat to the bottom of the cage? I thought about taping around the 4 sides of the flexwat?

Re: Foil tape under flexwat?
Since I have a rack, the foil tape is on the rack, then the flexwatt, and then it is taped on either side to secure it. I use foil tape to secure it as well. My tubs just sit on top of the tape, it is not secured to them.

Ok I think that answers my question.. I'm just concerned about causing a short or something with the foil against flexwat.

Re: Foil tape under flexwat?
Hi,
You should use electrical tape over the ends of the conductive strips and connectors of the flexwat to avoid the shorting problem.
So 4 peices of electrical tape minimum.
