Our ability to express our true concern of the public's fear.
It's like I always tell people when they tell me their afraid of snakes, I tell people "I understand, their not for everyone and I'm not going ask you to do or be in a situation that make them uncomfortable". Normally peoples curiosity and me not pushing the animals on them wins out over fear..
We don't need to poo poo peoples fear. I think that is one of the reasons we get such a bad rap. People get the "its so stupid to be afraid of snakes".
This lady didn't walk in to a snake shop and complain she was getting out of her car..I tell you if I went to get out of my car and there's a Bengal tiger standing there, I'd crap myself.
Just remember while we enjoy these animals we have to accept others who don't and take them into consideration first and foremost cause after all it isn't snake lovers pushing for their removal from the pet trade..now is it.
I completely agree, but I wonder if this was the same person who called 911 when she locked herself IN her car. What the crap ever happened to "let me get away from this animal that I am afraid of, then call 911 to report a large "dangerous" animal in the vicinity". Guess that requires some common sense.

The tiniest amount of common sense would tell you the burm wouldn't have eaten her- just scared her a bit. I guess if you pretend her life was in danger, it makes for a better story.
Fox news is always so full of it.

Re: A woman "held captive" by a Burmese
Being someone who's only recently (few months ago) fallen in love with these animals. I can completely understand her Point of View and reasoning. I was terrified of them, until I was more or less forced to interact with one, and I was very apprehensive at first to say the least. Even still I'd probably be a little freaked out if an 11 ft snake was outside my car door. Not enough to call 9-1-1 but still enough where I probably wouldn't leave the car, or I'd leave through another door and RUN. lol
But I think the main problem here is in the reporting. Honestly, I can't say that I'm too suprised Fox news reported this in such a manor, as they tend to do little-to-no fact checking on their information / stories (my favorite example was when they ran an SNL skit as true). They tend to just turn the tinyest most mundane details into over-the-top horror stories. I've seen them do that on just about every show they run (Hannity, Beck, and O'Reilly to name a few).

Does anyone know of another news site with the same story, or a different link to the same video? That particular website is claiming the video to be "unavailable at this point".
0.1 '09 Normal Ball Python - Sheva

1.0 SHTCTB Leopard Gecko - Paradox

And 1.0 incredible, loving husband.

Re: A woman "held captive" by a Burmese
I can understand her having a fear of snakes. Some people do, and that's their fear. I have fears that some people would laugh at me about, so I respect other peoples fears.
It's the reporting that makes me angry. They could have done it alot better. But like I said, it's fox news and they always twist words, and (from what I hear) they're very biased. I watched that video twice and not once did I see that Burm try to strike at any of those people. He/she was very gentle, and was just looking for a meal.
I don't like the way they shoved him into the garbage can. They should have gotten someone out there that was more experienced with snakes. After all, it's Tampa!

Looks like BG is gonna need to post 300 more times in the next week to get back to 99.9% then. Aren't you all lucky?
BG sent a text to Adam at 8 Ball(he is on top of the whole thing with the government), he believes what BG believes. This woman may have been a "plant" by our enemies. She will be investigated thoroughly by the reptile nation to see if she is in fact....a FRAUD.
