You could try using cypress mulch substrate or making a humid hide.

I basically just use a plastic container with a hole cut in the side and I put damp moss in it. Just make sure to change out the moss every couple days and that should help during a shed.

Other then that there isn't a whole lot you can do other than change to a tub
Tub or a Vision cage . I'll tell you having perfect 50-60% humidity at all times is very nice. Also I can increase the humidity a bunch by either covering the back vent on my Vision cage or just using a tub with less holes. Tanks just get too much to deal with just to be able to have a prettier display for your snake.
