I don't do MMA, (12 year old freakin' kid here) But I do Tae Kwon DO and Wing Chun. I also do Japanese Kendo.

Kimbo Slice is gonna get chopped down unless he strengthens those cheeeken legs. Any top contender will go straight for his legs and take him out. He did look better though.
Big Country can fight.

how about kimbo's superhuman slam!!!
i agree with BG, those little legs barely got tapped tonight. if he doesnt step that up MAJORLY and faces a kick boxer he's DONE! i dont think he'll have to any time soon, i think that they will give him great matchs for his skill set (like houston alexander) because he's DEFINATLY a money maker. also he weighted in at 212, maybe he could make 205

Re: -- Official Mixed Martial Arts Thread --
Agreed on that slam!!! ATT definitely taught him a couple against-the-cage takedowns that he must have worked on. It doesn't hurt that he does have plenty of muscle all over that upper body (until he gets tired).
He's so top heavy that he has a tough time on the ground just because of his build. Top heavy, weaker than average legs for his weight class. You could see it in his mounts from the houston fight, you can just tip him off you and he loses his balance.

Big Gunns can't believe he only weighs 212. He must have some real chicken legs. He has the upper body of someone that's 240. It's gonna take him years to get where he needs to be. Dana will give him fights that he can win though. He is good for the sport. He loves to fight...and he'll fight anyone.

Re: -- Official Mixed Martial Arts Thread --
I heard years back before he had any professional fights that Kimbo walked around at 280.
I think the UFC could do with some tiered fighting. That's the whole point, to have a bunch of fighters of various degrees of ability, and you fight to prove where you belong. Win and you move up, lose and you move down, win enough and you get a shot at the title.
Dana has set up the UFC and the people he signed be composed solely of fighters capable of having a shot at the title, with an extremely limited tier from new fighters to the champ. This is why we see people getting title shots, deserved or not, after just a handful of fights in the Octagon.
I understand that Dana wanted to move away a little bit from old habits.. he himself talks about how back in the day he gave Tito Ortiz the easy fights and Chuck Liddell the hard fights, and thought that was a little unfair. However, I think there is certainly room in the UFC for a range of fighting abilities.

UFC 107 Picks
Grant
DaMarques
Linhares
Hendricks
Wiman
Belcher
Struve
The Carpenter
Pierce
Mir
BJ
BJ vs Sanchez This should be a great fight. BJ needs to take this fight to the ground immediately. We all know Diego is going to come out swinging like there is no tomorrow and if we catches BJ...
I don't see Kongo giving Mir a hard time. I figure Mir is going to tire him out take him down then choke him out.
