These prices actually mean nothing. All snakes are not created equal. If every snake looked identical it would be easy to say, but they're not. Every Pied, Spider, Pastel, Bumble bee does not look the same.

BG hates it when someone tells him they can get "X' snake for "X" price and "X'" snake that they can get for "X" price is butt ugly compared to his.

But then again, it's only the reality of the market today. I hate to say it, but you're going to miss out on sales if someone can get an equal quality pied for $850 vs. $1200. It just isn't happening. Simple economics. Same goes for spiders, bees, and what not. They are all snakes and all produce high and low quality snakes. I'll agree with you on pastel quality, but a spider is a spider is a spider....same with a pied other than the amount of white.

Isis never said that "X" snake cost "X" amount of dollars. Isis specifically said these were the going prices at the IOWA show, the only show Iowa has. Isis didn't pull these numbers out of thin air, Isis simply answered the OP's question. Perhaps BG should be upset with the sellers???

    Re: Morph prices at shows??

Everyone talks about all these cheap prices at shows, but a lot of vendors don't lower their prices at all...and the morphs that are selling cheap are usually surplus stuff like male pastels, spiders, etc...and cheap might be 10-20% off what you see on the internet. And in some cases, I don't blame them for knocking off a bit if they don't have to take the risk of shipping.

Nobody is dumping anything rare or valuable at half price or anything like that, though...the prices for those morphs are usually right on par with what you see on the internet (same price ranges - some high, some low).

Agreed, bigtime. I'm not in the market right now, but I'd love to get to walk around and look at everything, at the very least, especially what with how people are always saying that photos don't do the animals justice.
Mountain bikes are for slow people, and reptiles are far better pets than cats & dogs!

    Re: Morph prices at shows??

    Averages at the STL shows...

    males/females
    Cinnys: 175/250
    pastels: 50/100
    mojos: 165/200
    lessers: didnt see any
    pewters: didnt see any
    spiders 165/200
    hypos 300/400

I browse alot on Kingsnake.com and it seems as if they are really proud of their babies. 99% of the time I buy from a show because I dont have to pay $50-$100 for shipping you get to see/hold them, ask questions without waiting for days for a response. And almost always have better prices.

I just picked up an 09 m mojave for $165, and an 09 f spider for $200. Deals like that online are few and far between. Plus yeah they are fun!
