Re: Symptoms of RI?
Best thing to do is go to a vet, I had a blood where liquid was comming out of his mouth and I was 100% sure it was RI. Ended up being I did not have the correct humid and it was the dry bark getting into his lungs and it was his way of removing the dust from his lungs. But if you can kinda roll back his lip and see if you can see bubbles forming around his mouth or out nose. Hope this helps best of luck

Re: Symptoms of RI?
First off if you had to RAISE the humidity to get it up to 60%, there was your problem right there.
Bloods really can't tolerate lower humidity, and the LOWEST you want to have it is at 60%. Even then, you have to make sure that they are absolutely comfortable in their enclosures and not stressed out.
I keep mine at 65 to 75% all the time, hell, sometimes it gets to 80% and I don't worry at all. You just need to make sure you maintain a clean enclosure to avoid any kind of funky stuff taking hold in there.
Your temperatures that you have maintained on a regular basis would be helpful.
What were your cool side temps?
Ambients?
Hot side?
Humidity?
If you think your Blood has an RI, and it sounds like its got one, you need to get it to the vet ASAP, like today.
Treating RI's in Bloods and Short Tails is NO fun, and can be rather difficult to treat if not caught early enough.
Make sure your vet does a Culture and Sensitivity test to make sure your injecting the right medication.
In the meantime, make the whole enclosure 86 to 88 degrees and up the ambient temps to 83 to 84 degrees.
Get the humidity up over 70% or so to help him out.
