Hey Folks,

Long story short, I bought a ball python from someone on Fauna, did a payment plan over a few months. Received the animal on Wednesday.

Checked on him tonight and he is sort of drooling/foaming at the mouth. I would assume this is some sort of respitory infection caused by the shipping conditions:

The seller was supposed to ship Tuesday for Wednesday delivery (overnight).

What they did instead was ship Monday for Wednesday delivery (2nd day air). The animal was in a sack, the box was filled with crumpled newspaper, and there was a cheap, small handwarmer in the box (like you would take to a ball game, not the 24 hr heat packs reputable guys use to ship herps)

So, I have sent an email to the seller requesting they pay the shipping back to them for the animal and refund my money.

I have little faith they will comply, and if they don't they will be reported to the BOI.

In the event I'm stuck with the animal, what can I do to fix the problem? I'm in a rural area so I know I can get a vet to look at my horse or cow, but I seriously doubt I can find a good reptile vet. Are there any OTC medications I can use, and if so, where do I find them?

TIA,

Lee
