Yes. Don't beat yourself up too much, these snakes can be just fine with many inconveniences temporarily.
You might look into a tub for housing as they are very cost efficient and have many other bonuses.
If you were looking to get a new glass cage, I would recommend a 20g long over a 40g breeder, they just don't need that much space, plus they are easier to heat and keep humidity up in them.
