I've read different things about feeding our BP. Some say 15% of it's body size and other say the thickest part of the body should be how big the prey is. My BP is around 75-80 grams. Found a local place finally who sells live and frozen feeder mice and rats. Now they offer pinkies, fuzzies, hopper and adult. I think the pinkies and fuzzies are Hamsters (is that bad, and those are the live ones not the frozen) but the adult mice seem young and prob only about a quarter thickness. Which is about what my ball is. So what is the recommendation. I just want to buy 1 thing really. But if I have too ill buy 2 of something, so what is going to be guys?

You definitely do not want your BP to imprint on a prey item that is not readily available or that is expensive, this could be an issue even more so if you had to re-home your animal.

Hatchling are generally started on hopper mice moving to small adult and adult rather quickly, at this size a small mouse (between hopper and adult will do)

If you BP has never took a meal with you, feed live for at least 3 to 4 feeding (remember your priority is for your BP to eat for you). Once established you an attempt to switch to F/T.

Yea he hasn't eaten for me yet at all and Wednesday is the new feeding date. I just like the sound of live feeding better. Got my tongs today too. I just can't wait for him to strike this little feeder mouse. =)

You should go with a rat fuzzy! Rats are a better choice because you can get one feeder that is the right size all their lives. With mice, balls outgrow them fast then you have to feed multiple mice every feeding. My friend has an adult female(1600 grams) and she eats like 6 mice every week! He has another female that eats just one medium rat a week! Mice cost $8 a week and rat costs $3.50 a week! Big difference! There is nothing wrong with feeding mice and the snake will grow fine! It's completely up to you! I go with the thickest part of the snake not 15% of weight but that's how I like doing it! Good luck!
