It's been a while since I've posted here. I've had my bp for almost 2 years now and this summer I learned a ton about husbandry from this forum. Unfortunately, my bp has not been doing so well, despite all that I've tried. She's not sick, but I can tell the stress has been getting to her. I admit that getting a snake in my current position was foolish. I have the money, interest, and a time to take care of her, but being a college student that has to travel 500 miles home frequently is not the ideal situation for a snake.

I've tried as much as I can think of at this point to make her comfortable. I switched to a tub, made sure her hides were adequate, and kept husbandry spot on. She stopped eating about two months ago, but hasn't lost much weight yet. So I reduced the tub size and still nothing. Crumpled paper in the tub works for a little while. My living environment is what I think is contributing. There is always noise from next door and the moving doesn't help. And this will only continue with grad school in a couple years. I think at this point I've eliminated just about every factor except the one I can't change.

I'm not trying to abandon her much like the ads you see on craigslist. I know that she would be better off with someone who has the capacity to make her less stressed. Perhaps someone with multiple snakes that can handle the intricacies of a tricky eater.

I am not charging any kind of "adoption fee" as I would rather have her be happy, if you could say a snake is happy. I do have some requirements, though. I would like to talk to whoever is interested to get to know you. Friendliness is cool. I would also like to hear updates about her every so often. But, I will not ship her. She's had enough stress for a lifetime. I am going to be at my girlfriend's house (near Baltimore and DC) December 17. I will also be up in Massachusetts near Worcester after that. Either will work, but I would prefer not to have to stress her out again with the drive if possible.

So, about her. Her name is Wes, she's a 1500-1600g normal. Used to eat fine, but I'm sure in a non stressed environment she will eat. With her, I have three tubs (two 41qt and one 32qt), UTH, Repti-Temp 500r thermostat, backup light dimmer, Accurite, two sets of hides, water bowl, paper bedding, top locking binder clips, scale, aluminum tape, chlorohexadine, deodorizer, ceramic heat bulb with lamp (not used currently), and a couple other goodies. Like I said, this all is free, provided you can show me you can take care of her.

Here is a picture of her from this summer. She's cute and I will miss her, but I know this is the right thing for both of us.
