Curious to know what my snake is doing..
My BP, Pennyworth is always up and roaming around the tank. He has never really done this and when he does he just slithers around for about 10 minutes and then goes back into his hide, now It's every hour of the day it seems like. At first, I thought he was just being curious, but he has never been slithering around so often before.
Here's is a picture of him slithering around:

He is not new to the tank, he has been in there for 4 months now. You think the hides are too small now? You think the tank needs to be bigger? The hides are a pretty decent size, enough to fit himself inside all snug. I don't know, maybe I'm a hypochondriac, lololol.

Maybe he thinks he's a Tiger, or maybe he's just more comfortable in his enclosure. BG would double check all your temps just to be safe though.
It's normal for a snake to do this once they feel more confident they won't be hurt.

If your tank is effected by environmental changes like dropping temps, he may be on the prowl. In my experience male bp's will get active with a temp/ humidity change trigger.

I went to check on him and he went back into his hide. From what you see in the picture, you think he could still be hungry? I feed him large mice every friday.

Re: Curious to know what my snake is doing..
I've noticed my BP does he same alot when the sun goes down.
She never used to that much but I have been handling her alot more and she's become noticably more comfortable with me holding her and just being around her enclosure in general.
She eats still like a pig, even moved her to rats last week finally.
Probably just your BP becoming more comfortable with you i'd say if he's eating fine and looking healthy.

Probably looking for a nice female this time of year. :]
Tank is not too small, and hides are also not too small.

Re: Curious to know what my snake is doing..
Do you know how much the snake weighs? I normally feed 10-15% of the snakes body weight in rats/mice once a week.
Husbandry looks fine from here so I don't think that is the issue.
If you are feeding him enough it could just be that time of year.

I weighed him 2 days ago and he is 516g's right now.

Re: Curious to know what my snake is doing..
I would start feeding him 3 mice or a rat weanling/small rat.
I don't think you mentioned, how many mice are you feeding him per week?

Re: Curious to know what my snake is doing..
516gs is certainly time to upgrade to sm rats, though this is not necessarily why your snake is out and about.
