    Hi,

Good thing you caught it in time.

I found that the foil tape was the best thing for sticking it to the heatmat as it seems to be the best at dealing with the heat.

But if the tub is hitting off it then it still tends to get dislodged - I got this bit wrong the first time I placed the probe.

this a good reason ot consdier a dummy tub( one not used) to place and set up a base setup wit haspen and all so can check the temps the probes and all so they can be montior and not worry about knocking probes loose snakes gettign stuck in probes and such.

I need to get some foil tape or liquid nail to glue my flexwatt down so it quit slidding around as I pull tubs out.

Sorry to hear that Hopefully everyone is okay. That is why I like my melamine racks. I dremmel out a slot for the probe and put the heat tape over it. I never have to worry about the probe moving but I am ALWAYS worried when we have a storm because I have had that ruin my thermostats

Unhappy Re: ahhh scared the hell outta me!

The same thing happened to me about 3 years ago when I first got into the hobby and I was sloppy and still researching about BP's at the time. my female sat on the over heated hot spot and burned her underside so bad she had an open wound all along her belly. I knew she was a goner. I was soo upset at my stupid mistake and it cost her her life. she died 2 days later. since then I properly educated myself and have alot more experience now. I shouldn't have jumped right into the hobby as fast as I did but that will NEVER happen again!!!! R.I.P. Hissy

I have a question... because im planning to move my snakes into tubs... why do I hear everybody putting their probes on the flexwatt, shouldn't it be inside of the snakes tub on the warm side?

Re: ahhh scared the hell outta me!

It's all relative. You can measure the temp anywhere as long as the temp in the tubs are what you're looking to attain. As an example, if you meaure at the flextape and the temp is 130, but your temp in the tub is 90, then that's good. If the temp on the flextape is 95 and the temp in the tub is 90, your good. You set your thermostat to whatever you need to get the temps in the tub to whatever you're trying to attain.

    Hope this helps!
