I agree, Norton and McAffee are both terrible.

Avast, Avira, Nod32 are all great anti-virus programs. I used to recommend AVG but not so much anymore..

Spyware: Search and Destroy, Malwarebytes, hijackThis, and ad-aware are also great, as everyone has said.

Yeah, I've had so many people complain to me about their computers running super slow and just uninstalling norton and putting a better replacement on instead it sped right up. Norton has got to be one of the biggest resource hogs out there. Even some of the highest end gaming machines I've worked on were bogged down by it. That, plus the fact that it kinda sucks at actually completely cleaning out any infections keeps me from ever considering using it.

I used combofix last night to fix a computer. Used it on a recomendation from another IT guy. I am mostly business IT so I rarely have this problem and when I do I re-image the computers. Give it a try. http://www.combofix.org/

Thanks fans. Only a couple of you gave links to where exactly BG can download it though. BG is worried about trying to find your suggestions on his own and downloading something he shouldn't.

Check this forum out. They will help you remove anything off your computer for free. They helped me a few years ago when my computer was totally FUBAR. They will tell you some programs to download and then have you post the results and they will tell you certain files or programs to delete. Hope this helps!

This worked Rick. BG uninstalled it and found out that Hertz is trying to take him to the cleaners. They want millions for what BG wants to do. Apparently nobody at Hertz has heard of Big Gunns.

Big Gunns has a Mac lap top, but he's not using that right now. Mac still doesn't have all the software BG needs at any kind of reasonable price for what he's doing.
