    Feeding with bedding

When my BP eats his frozen thawed mouse, for some reason the mouse is wet and quite a bit of bedding sticks to the mouse, is it alright if the snake eats bedding too??

    Re: Feeding with bedding

if it is aspen beeding there should be no problem with the snake ingesting some of it. it will just pass right through. but if you are really concerned about it you can always feed in a seperate container.

I lay down paper towel on the substrate an hour before feeding. Then I know he won't injest anything he shouldn't. An hour later I remove the paper. You could also use newspaper.

Both my BPs and RTB have ingested substrate before i moved them to newsprint and nothing wrong ever happened. I figure if they can digest hair and bones they can get some plant matter digested too if its there.

My bp got some aspen in his mouth 3 feedings ago and he was fine. I have since started feeding in a separate enclosure just in case
