    Fire?

I just got this little guy in a trade, and I want to confirm that he is a Fire. I know if he is he's a low contrast one, but he was confirmed by two petshops and a few BP owners, not breeders, as a Fire. Though I'd rather have the confirmation from someone who actually breeds them to make sure.

Now he's in shed in these two pictures, so he's a bit darker right now. When I get pictures of him out of shed I'll post them.

He does have a clean clear belly, a light spot on his head (Because he's low contrast), and a completely light pink tongue.

I'd say maybe on that one. I'm not completely sure. Without confirmation from the source, the only definite way to tell would be to breed to another fire and see if you get any black eyed leucistics.

    Re: Fire?

That's what I'm going to try and do, so it's actually good it's a male. If it turns out to be a Fire, I'll get Black eyeds and fires, if it's a normal I'll still atleast get fires and can easily raise up one of those males quickly.

    Re: Fire?

Did the original owner have any documentation on the animal? Who produced the animal? I think thats the only way to find out for sure. Good luck

    Re: Fire?

No, he got it from a reptile shop that was closing down a couple cities over. They had it labeled as a Fire since they got a clutch from a breeder. The reptile shop that I do rescues through down here said it looked like a Fire as well. I know the previous owner and have done trades with him before, so I trust his judgement, but that doesn't mean I trust the judgement of where he got it from.

It looks like a fire to me.

Belly shot looks right, coloring looks right, head spot looks right.

If it turns out to be a Fire, I'll get Black eyeds and fires
And a normal or two if your lucky
