    UGH....bored and fustrated!!

So I am home for the second day in a row. Quite frankly it is driving me crazy...normally I would love it....but that is really just in theory.

My son who is 9 years of is suffering from migraines. You feel so helpless with this. They are getting more frequent and hurting more and more lately. The doc finally wants to do an MRI....but the stupid lab will not perform one on him because he is under 10...oye...so here I sit...waiting for a phone call to tell me the next option. Apparently they are trying to find a place that will do it without sedation.

I am not too too worried about it being something bad...we are just ruling this out to be sure. But on the other side.....the 3 choices of medications for him are not that appealing.

All in all I am bored sitting here waiting. It is making me crazy!! My son is sleeping....the snakes ate way too much on Saturday so cannot come out to play and the dogs just want to lay around and sleep, hubby is at work, friends at work. And I honestly think I have read about everything on here......shocking I know.

    Ok..thanks for listening!

    Re: UGH....bored and fustrated!!

Wish I was into that kind of stuff!

Well still bored...finally found a company that will handle my sons MRI and will do it today. YEA...

So now I just have another 2 hours to wait! Again...not worried...all will be well...they will look at his brain and tell me although he is a little koo koo and a huge pain in the bootey...he is normal.

Hey anyone have any "natural" migraine remedies....I really don't want him on anticonvulsion meds or this wierd antihistamine...or a narcotic at 9.

My mom has bad migraines, she used to be able to take Excedrin Migraine for them but now she has to take Imitrex, and says it works REALLY well. It's on the pricey side though.

Maybe you can look into Homeopathic websites and see if they list any there. My friend is some sort of Homeopathic Dr, and the way they "fix" issues is amazing!

Does she have a website or an email address. I would love to do something natural as opposed to drugs. He is only 9...

I know that there are certain foods to avoid that will help the migraines, chocolate is a big one.

I'll see if i can find out the rest, my girlfriend's father gets bad migraines and will not touch these foods because he finds a direct effect.

She does, I'll e-mail her and ask if it's ok to give her e-mail address to you. She has a 6 month old herself, and has been taking a break from working since she was pregnant.

    Dr. Gott Article on Steaming

I read this idea in Dr. Gott's column and gave it a try. It has definitely helped!
    Best of Luck!

You should pick up knitting or crocheting. I always to that when I have lots of time to kill. I find it relaxing as well. Maybe your son could learn as well! haha
