A few Questions...

I have some questions... Regarding my Python...

1. Which type of light bulb to use? Florescent? Incandescent? UVA?

2. Handling, how much should the snake be handled in one day? Also, is taking the snake out of his cage 4+ times in a day bad?

3. Feeding, Should I wait two to three days after feeding so the snake doesn't regurgitate?

It is best to have a under the tank heater for your snakes regulated on a thermometer. (I am sure I spelled that wrong)lol. You do not need to have a light if you have that. Temps should be about 82-83 cool side and 92-93 warm side.

Check out the Python care sheet there is tons of info on there that will be good for you.

If you just got your snake it is good to let him be for a couple of weeks. Not handling him at all so that he can chill out and get use to his environment.

When feeding you should not handle for 48 hours. This will let them digest their food. I find that mine don't even move for a couple of days.

As far as handling....gosh you will read tons and tons of different things. Each snake is different. I have one that hates it so I try to handle her once a day. On the other hand I have one that can be out for hours on end and is super happy. She loves to be handled. Typically they tolerate being handled. If he seems to be trying to get away a lot or restless then I would say cut back the handling.

No lighting is required for ball pythons. They are better off with heat from a UTH.
