I have a 1.2 group of ASF rats in a tub. One of the moms had a litter several weeks ago, and the babies eyes are now open, but i don't believe they are ready to wean off yet. My other mom dropped a litter last night, and all of the babies are under a hide and mixed together. I haven't watched them long, but it appears that the newborns are not going to be able to get to the mom for milk because of the larger babies pushing them out of the way. I've got the room, so should i separate the first mom and her babies for a week or so until they are ready to wean?

Thanks for any help.
