    Can you use a sponge??

    I was wondering if you guys think you can use a sponge like from the kitchen as long as its new of course

    Or a sponge that you use to wash your car instead of moss from the pet store.

    Of course i would buy a brand new one so please dont think i wouldnt thanks alot

    Yes you can use a sponge but be careful as sponges for cleaning purposes are pre treated with chemicals to kill bacteria which is toxic to your snake.


    If you want to use sponges i suggest going to a arts n crafts store and buying Sea Sponges. Their 100% natural and biodegradable.

    Which is why i suggest Sea sponges. Their are specific ways of cleaning them if you keep up on it to keep bacteria form building. One method is baking soda and hot water which cleans them as well. But its more hassle than its worth.

    hey sorry guys I havent responded here is my setup



    Here is a side veiw it has two hides water dish log

    and then for heat a UTH and a heat lamp on top which keep the ambient and spot temp perfect but now the humidity is sucking

    Cover the screen top with just enough screen showing for the heat lamp to shine through. This should hold in humidity.

    Yeah either getting rid of the overhead lamp, which would pretty much erase your problem. Or you could cover most of the screen with a damp cloth, just keep up with it to make sure its not too dry or too wet. Also what are you using to measure everything?
