Moving BP's from Cage to Rack?

I was just wondering how people have seen BP's adjust from going from cages to racks...I had all of mine in the RBI 3x2x1 cages and just moved them all too the RBI Racks...They haven't been in their hides, but on constant move which isn't normal for them...Just wondering if anyone has done this transition too...

Re: Moving BP's from Cage to Rack?

I recently moved all of my snakes into hides(1 red tail boa and 7 balls) I do notice that they are a bit more mobile and tend to hide less.... I personally am watching who uses their hides and who doesnt thinking of taking them out of the ones that dont use them. They seem to feel more secure in the tubs.

    PS Love my apbt's also...

I'm about to make the same move and was going to ask this very question.

I'm expecting a lot of cruising for the first couple of days but assuming they will settle in.

When I moved mine from tanks to tubs, the change in their feeding response was incredible. One of them, that wouldn't eat F/T in his tank, not only switched over, but would strike and constrict so hard and fast that he would throw his hide out of the tub...

I had the same experience. I have a few balls in my classroom. They would seldom feed on a schedule. Once I put them in tub/racks, everything changed. They eat often, and are alot more enjoyable for my students to handle. They have all become different animals. The change was a positive experience for me and my animals.

oh i hope this is the case for me. i just ordered a boaphile rack system 2 weeks ago. my het pied female is alittle finecky when it comes to eating. i guess it may be the 10gal glass tank shes in and the traffic of me constantly walking by her. all my others though( the butter male and female, and male het pied) are great eaters. the female butter especially, shes a beast! hopefully i get the rack in the next 3 weeks!!!! i cant wait, my impatience is growing more and more.
