    Exclamation Help please!!!!

Okay so my husband fed my snake a full grown pregnant mouse yesterday when I was asleep. I told him not to bc it was too big and we would get babies tomorrow for her (hoppers or maybe a bit bigger) and apparently he didnt listen to me. The mouse was about 3 in long and pretty fat due to the pups in her. She ate it okay, but now she is really really fat and the part where the mouse is is all faded looking. Is she going to be okay? I will put the smack down on him if he does this again to her, but I was just needing to know if she would be ok. She is moving around when I lift up her hide to ck on her and everything... is she going to be okay?

Please no rude comments about my husband doing this to the snake or the mouse, I just need some confirmation on the well being of the snake nothing else.

    Re: Help please!!!!

Also, I was wondering how long mice stay pregnant? My mother mouse has been preggo for like 3 dang months ? She keeps getting fatter, and her nipples are all cleaned off now, but STILL NO BABIES. WTH is wrong w her? Everywhere I have looked says they are only pregnant for like a month. Any ideas of whats up with her?

I would think the snake will be fine and it is faded due to the skin stretched out. I wouldn't handle it for a bit longer than normal due to the bigger than normal meal but it should be fine IMO.

Mama mouse may have had cancer. Pretty much guaranteed to happen in mice if they live long enough.

Regarding the snake, my prediction is that she will be fine or she will regurg the mouse by tomorrow (and then be fine).
Would you breed a wobbler dog even though it had a cool coat?

ok good on the snake, but sad for my mousey. her and the daddy are pets and the rest are food for the snake... The male doesnt try to mate her so im assuming she isnt comming in heat. Will the cancer cause that too?

Best thing to do is keep your snake warm (normal heat gradients in the enclosure, nothing extra crazy) and don't pick it up; handling it will increase the likelihood that it will regurgitate.

Snakes can take down food a lot bigger than most people give them credit for. If it really is too big she will regurgitate it and should be no worse for it. If it was small enough for her to swallow its small enough to come back up if her system can't handle it. Don't fret too much.

    Re: Help please!!!!

Good deal. She ate it fine I'm assuming lol. It has been not quit 24 hours yet, and no regurg as of now. I will just leave her alone and let her digest I suppose Thank you all for you help!!

I love my snake like most ppl do their dogs lol so I would be extremly sad if something happened to her.

How old is the snake? Hatchlings can take adult mice after 2-3 feedings.

    Re: Help please!!!!

She should be fine. I have fed too big of a meal once due to asking for one size and receiving another. I would just make sure she had normal heat like has already been mentioned and just leave her alone for a few days.

As far as the other mouse being pregnant for 3 months. That is not possible. Mice are pregnant for about 3 weeks, give or take a few days. If she is continuing to gain weight and she looks pregnant, she may be obese or be sick.
    Under Construction.....

    Re: Help please!!!!

I think your good and as the other post stated the fading is just her being stretched out. Make sure your belly heat is good (as they use that to help digest). Wow....she probably thought it was like Christmas!!
