Pic of my First Carpet
Got this in Birmingham yesterday, been waiting for a carpet for a while now so pretty excited. Guy wasn't sure as to sub-species, looked like some coastal in it, but that might just be me hoping ha. What yall think?

A lot of JCPs won't have a bright yellow in it so even though it could be a possibility, it's probably just a normal JCP.

Yeah that's the problem not all jungles have a lot of yellow. It's not a huge deal to me though, I love any carpet and i got a good deal on this one so I'm happy whatever it is

Re: Pic of my First Carpet
By the markings alone, I'd say there is a pretty good probability that it has Coastal in it's bloodline. If not a pure Coastal, I'd imagine it's a Coastal cross (probably Jungle). It's impossible to pinpoint all bloodlines in Carpet Pythons though.
Anyway, nice looking little Carpet you have there! If it is Coastal dominant, expect a pretty large adult.

thats what i was trying to point out cause most pure jcp are atleast yellow just some are brighter than others yours looks almost greyish(might just be the camera) but it has some coastal markings as well in its pattern

Thanks! Yeah that's part of why I was leaning towards mcdowellii, I want something that'll get a little larger. Especially if it's female, it hasn't even been sexed yet.
True most jungles I've seen have a lot of yellow, but it's possible for them to color up a lot like mine. From what i've read a lot of the ones in Australia aren't yellow at all.

Pretty cool looking one. The Bham show is hit or miss. Hardly any decent chondros so I stopped going a while back. Where in North AL are you located Matt?
