Adopting ball pythons, not sure of their sex

So I have been in contact with a woman who I grew to be friends with through the nearby college reptile club. She owns two ball pythons, ages 7 and 14, and has been looking for someone to adopt them. She asked me if I would be interested in, and I definitely am, but I just wanted to ask a question here about something. She says thy are both males, but that one is 5 foot and the other is 5.5 feet. This seems pretty large for a male bp, and so I was wondering if maybe she is just mistaken and they might be female? What do you all think? Is it likely that two males could get that large?

Have you seen them? I would say it's most likely she off on size, most people overestimate. Or they might just be females, did she have someone experienced sex them?

Well, i know they can be a little differnt for everyone but my 7 year old female is not 5 ft yet. Still growing very slowly but about 4.25 ft right now.

Have her take out a tape measure to be a little more exact. Or they may be females. You should just go look at them and get an idea for yourself. You should always sex them yourself anyway. No matter what the person that has them says.

I would say a 7 or 14 year old male ball python could be just as big as an adult female ball python.

If you adopt the snakes, go to the vet and get them checked out

Alright, thanks everyone. I sent her an email asking if she was positive on their sex, and to meet up and see them. And I was planning on taking them both to the vet when I got them anyway, so could just find out for sure then.
