I love the busy pattern But i think you can't rate a snake and this is why. What you like i might not like everybody's opinions will differ. So how can you look at a snakes and rate it a 1 or a 5 it's all on what you like. Thats all that should matter is what you think of your snakes

then that really makes me wonder why we have these threads. I mean theres plenty of morphs I don't like, should I rate all pieds 1 and all lessers 5? i never cared for pieds, but i can pick out whats a good example of a pied, and also I love lessers but I have seen some that really are not good examples, doesn't mean their not cool or have potential, just its simply not a good example. and that shouldn't offend anyone eigher.
love the points you guys are making... but like for everything else.. to each there own right.. i dont like 'pieds' either.. but if im rating one and see that there's VERY low white on it i'll probably give it a 5.. plus i also believe that NOT one photo can do justice to what some of these snakes look like in your hands!

I think I can agree with that

Well I can say mayb you guys shed a little light for me, but i still think you guys are crazy for voting her that high.

I say shes a 2 and heres my take on it. she looks like 90% of the pins out there, like alot of you said shes not a completly busy patterned nor is she a full striper. just "typical" pin. atleast shes got a nice light brown color to her vs the darker. but she also doesn't even have a hint of that orange hue that top of the line pins do. she not what I would call a great example of what a pin can be.

but that in no way doesn't mean I don't think shes great, half of my collection is partial stripers (<- now how do you spell stripe+er vs strip+er... kinda way 2 different things anyways...) so she fits in perfect. my lesser is also a partial stripe and I want to pair them up next year and see what happens. the 2 rating has nothing to do with her potential, just she really not a great example of what a pin can be. which brings me back to the title of my thread.... I don't understand all this rate the snake stuff

thats the point. the OP wants everyones opinions BECAUSE everyone's is different. of coarse all that TRULEY matters is what you think but breeders need to know where the market is at. if more people like busy pins then it would be smart to only buy busy pins (or vice versa). no one is going to abandon their snake because of a bad rateing. so everyone that says they dont like the "rate my snake" polls because "it should only matter what you think" is just being dramatic in my opinion. i dont think that the thread should be bumped on every vote, that is annoying i agree. but the worst thing someone is doing by posting one of theese is fishing for compliments.

Ok then.. I gave you a 2. Because I personally prefer the double stripe as solid as it can be, more reduced, A connected head pattern at the back of the head and high yellow and/or white sides.

Thats my personal opinion on what the morph should look like if it is being called a pinstripe. Yours does have a very cool busy labyrinth like pattern but I would call that a certain "line" of pins since they are not technically pinstriped. Its a variation. IMO

And honestly my pinstripe is exactly what I prefer in a pin and it took me many months to find him. Everyone has their own opinion though.

I gave yours a 4 because I really like the busy pattern, but I would like the busy pattern on the sides of the snake, not where the dorsal stripe should be. I would love a nice, full, & clean dorsal stripe, and the busy pattern on the side.

hmm i havent read the other posts on this thread but.. when people vote a 5 or 4 on a "typical" snake, im sure theyre voting in the sense of how nice the snake is for THAT specific morph or for a normal, i mean if i see one that says "rate my spider" i rate how nice the snake is compared to other spiders "how nice of a spider it is" you see where im goin with this? haha idk thats just how i rate them, im sure most people do too :]

but.. that is a pretty and busy pin youve got there, pins are awesome, i rate 5.

Who/What defines what makes a "good example" of a morph? Except for [perhaps] certain morphs (BELs, Calicos, Pastels, etc.), it's pretty much a personal preference. Some people like reduced-pattern morphs, some prefer busy, some prefer high-white pieds/spiders, some prefer med- or low-white. I mean, there may be some glaringly-awesome, unique snakes that most people would call a 5 or whatever, but for the most part, that isn't the case.

As for the whole "rating" thing, I get snakes that either I think are good examples of the morphs or I like better for some reason or another. That doesn't mean anyone else thinks they're good or bad, pretty or ugly, and quite frankly, I don't care. What I care about is whether I like the snake or not.
