Recently i "repossesed" as my dad says a WC Cal King that i had given him for his classroom. He is a 4th grade teacher and had iguanas, geckos and i cought this snake in our backyard at around 12" and didnt really want her so i gave her to him. He said he researched everything and got the tank setup right and she was eating and everything is ok. Fast forward 8 or so years and he is retiring and asked me if i wanted my snake back so i agreed and went to his school to pick it up.
I was uterally embarrased at what my dad has her in. Shes around 5' in a 15G screen lid. has playground sand substrate, a hid she cant fit in, and a water bowl that is 7" tall AND NO HEAT SOURCE! Granted were in CA and the ambient temps arent too off, but his classroom is a constant 76* so she is definitely cold.
My only problem is the only spare heat source i have right now is a light and i dont have $$ to get a UTH till the 1st so how much humidity does she need? I alraedy have to mist my boa/python/chams so i dont mind misting but the sand is out, 2 good hides and a better water box are in the 20G i have laying around so hopefully she feels alittle better in there.
What kinda temps does she need? For all the reading ive done that says kings are nippy she came right out of the cage exploring and nice and lovely righ away so im a little happy about that![]()
