I really need to go to sleep and stop reading on this forum. I misspelled several words and had poor grammar in my poll title, probably other places as well.

Re: How long does flexwatt and others last?

I thought this might help people to make a choice when deciding on what to use as a heat source if they can get an idea of how long it lasts. Of course I am partial to it because it has never failed me and is all I have ever used in my cages.

Re: How long does flexwatt and others last?

I had one piece of flexwatt fail, but after investigation I found out that it was from a tub rubbing against it . I use it on all of my cages and racks now, and it has worked great for years.

Re: How long does flexwatt and others last?

I've been using my 12-inch flexwatt for about three years now. I did do some moving-around, which meant peeling off the metal heating-tape (the kind used for home ductwork) and it did leave a gummy residue that I had to scrape off with my nail. That's the only indication of its age; not sure how long it lasts.
