maybe a fancy mouse with colors and stuff so it doesn't look like an ugly mouse. maybe call it an african soft furred (leave the rat part out) and make up something about it not a rat or mouse lol. I would try something like that, unless you wanna breed gerbils instead. Not too sure how your snakes would do taking those but ya never know.
