Tail wagging good or bad ? I would say good so far

I have read that tail wagging is good and is bad. I also heard that they do it when they are not ready.

I observed it yesterday or should I say "heard" it.

I didn't know what to think until this morning. I opened up my bin and saw my little virgin (2yrs old) male mojave het ghost locked with my female lesser.

Well look like it's good. I have paired these, 2 weeks ago but saw nothing, and few days after the female was in shed, after it was the male. Now that they both have shed and that there is a low pressure around, I tried to put them up and see what happens.

I wish I get a few white head from this hehe.

And look like my other females are being receptive to my other male too. Looks like they are locked but can't be sure due to the position.

No pictures too, since I didn't want to disturb them and I didn't have my camera with me

Tail wagging occurs when female is in the presence of a male. She does this to spread her scent around and to let the male shes interested in mating. Its always a good sign

IMHO, tail wagging can be done by both sexes and its just saying "im stressed" sure they may lock up after, but some do and some dont.

Unless you mean the stress of knowing a male is near and she can't get to him, I doubt stress has anything to do with tail wagging.

I have yet to catch a non-breeding snake tail wag
Yes both sex's will tail wag, but mainly females from my experience.

A baby axanthic tail-wagged at me the other day before trying to take a chunk out of my finger. Therefore, I am a proponent of the tail-wag = stress hypothesis.

Can't aregue with babies moving their tails before a strike, but I don't think the OP had that in mind.

the lesser male that i have paired her up with has bred 4 other females within a hour of putting him in the tub with them, i have also tried to put her in the tub with him.... it isnt working. she doesnt wag her tail the whole time only for about 30 min of putting him in, then she stops wagging and sits on the oppisite side.she used to wag her tail when i would take her out when she was about 250g too, but now she only does it when i pair her up. i dont know why they wont breed but i am still trying, its just i dont think the tail wagging has much to do with breeding, just more of a "what are u doing in my space" kind of thing.

You can't say that tail wagging has nothing to do with breeding just because she wags and doesn't breed.
I've had that same thing happen, sometimes even when they wag they don't hook up, it's just a part of the whole process.
You can introduce and introduce and have nothing happen, and just when you least expect it, they do the deed.

I agree some snakes tail wag a bit when striking, but tail wagging during a pairing up is all about breeding and nothing about stress.
