    Feeding Response Balls VS Bloods

    Hi all,

Just wanted to see what your thoughts are on feeding response between the two pythons. Which is a better/easier feeder?

Re: Feeding Response Balls VS Bloods

My balls will eat live most of the time, and F/T on rare occasions.

My bloods will eat anything you put in their tubs - live, F/T, stuff the cat dragged in . . .

I've seen a video on Youtube of a blood feeding - he slammed a rabbit so hard it looked as if they both cleared the ground as the python was coiling!

Re: Feeding Response Balls VS Bloods

Bloods have a very strong feeding response, while Balls are sometimes picky eaters. I've never came across a picky eating Ball so to me it is unlikely to find a picky eater unless you're doing something wrong.

Re: Feeding Response Balls VS Bloods

I've heard stories of some bloods being picky, going off feed etc. just like balls have a reputation for.

I have yet to actually hear it from someone firsthand however. I think it is fair to say that bloods are pretty good when it comes to a feeding response.

Lets just say my bloods get to eat whatever my balls don't. ALL of my bloods eat without a problem. And they hit it hard to boot.

They shouldn't be used as a disposal on a regular though.

    Their metabolisms are SOOOO slow.
