3 Deaths in 2 Weeks
I'm not normally one to share a ton of my personal issues on here, but it's been a really rough couple weeks.
Last week a boy named Michael died. I knew his sister in high school very well (she's a senior and he was a freshman). His parents we're going through a very difficult divorce and he was consistently made fun of for being gay. Sunday 2 weeks ago he attempted suicide by hanging. He did not succeed and was put on life support and died last Thursday. That was hard on his sister, and I did my best to comfort her as much as possible.
This week one of my theater professors (who has been fighting breast cancer for many years) was put in the hospital and put on life support Monday. We found out yesterday (Thursday) that this had happened at all and that it would be the best time to say goodbye because they we're going to pull the plug within the next day. She died last night at 4:30pm.
Today, I found out a classmate of mine in high school (most of my friends including my boyfriend are still in high school so I still hear about things like this) had suffered the loss of his father to pancreatic cancer. My heart is with that poor boy.
If I had a time to say that deaths come in three's, that would be now.
If I had a time to say that Friday the 13th was ever unlucky from my point of view, that would also be now.
This has been a rough week on a lot of us and me, especially those close with the professor (I've seen this direct impact most). In theater, it almost becomes your second mother figure because you're with them all the time and work with them constantly. I have been the shoulder for a lot of crying people these past few days.
Thanks,
Jess

Re: 3 Deaths in 2 Weeks
I'm sorry about your loses. I know what you feel is a hard thing to go through, and I'm sure that everyone here on this site can feel sympathy for you. I went through something about five months ago, but it still feels like it just happen last week
He was only 18 and driving too fast down a back road. Doing 80 in a 25, a curvy bumpy road. Everyone knows where it happened, because at one point everyone had sped up to hit this one bump and make it in to a makeshift ramp/jump. He had two people in the car with him, both of them not wearing a seatbelt, and him being the only one that was. They landed the wrong way, lost control, rolled about 14-15 times and the driver side hit a tree. The two without a seatbelt were fortunate enough to make it out with only scratches, but the driver broke about 80% of his bones from the impact of the rolls and the tree.
It's something that stays with you for a long time. I don't want to say, don't worry, it will all pass soon and everything will be okay, because in some cases, it's just something that you think about a lot during the days passing. I do want to say that at least you know there are people around that can comfort you, or maybe even you comforting them. Of course you can know that you also have all of us on here if you need anything.

I'm sorry to hear that! Things will get better! I recently had a good friend that I could not find for a few years. He contacted me out of the blue and we laughed and talked alot about old times. I couldnt wait to see him, but he said that he did not feel well from Lymes disease. He lost his job, his wife, his kid and was just very depressed. That in conjunction with his Moms cancer led him and his mom to commit suicide together! Was bad times for sure and I had a very hard time getting over it. But now I can look back on him as I knew him and smile!

Re: 3 Deaths in 2 Weeks
I'm so sorry. The last month has been rough on me, as well. Lots of attempted suicides. My acquaintance, my friend's friend, attempted it about a month ago. 2 weeks ago, my best friend tried and almost succeeded and is doing very badly back at school. The last little bit, my mom has been suicidal. It's so rough when people you know or people you know who know others who have died. I'm so sorry for all of your losses. I truly hope things will pick up for everyone who's posted who have had rough times, including you.
 Dude, where did Bob go?
