    Re: Possible DH Lav Snow

the lav snow didn't really come out as planned :/ http://www.vpi.com/brag/lavender_snow_ball_and_siblings although I think it looks nice, it may color up to a stunning animal. we'll have to wait and see.

I think a lav/pied (dream) project is a better investment than a lav snow.

    Re: Possible DH Lav Snow

Who thinks the Lav snow did not come out as planned? The funny thing about making combos is that you should keep an open mind some hatch out like you would think and others do not. If anyone is sad about how this combo looks so far than I question their taste in morphs. The Lav Snow is by far the best new morph produced this year and it should only get better looking. I would not think twice about getting into this project if you like the end results. It can be hard work and take a long wait but in the end you get an amazing snake that almost no one can make. How many breeders are kicking themselves for not making double hets years ago if they could have. Since the normal snow has more color than most wanted it to they all assumed the lav snow would not be cool and they were dead wrong. I bet the ones who can will make double hets this year! Of all the projects I am glad I am working on almost none have ever excited me more than this morph.

I also love this morph... and wouldn't mind getting some normal lavs and axanthics out of the hets anyway.

IM not saying it didn't come out as planned, i think people expected it to be more of a "WOW" animal than it is at the moment. Personally, i think its stunning and i plan on getting into a few lav projects in a few years, including the lav snow.

    Re: Possible DH Lav Snow

None of the Lav combos are Wow right out of the egg at least compared to normal albino combos that are the same. I know you are going to say the Lav Pied is but it does not look much if at all better than the normal Albino pied. I get the feeling even as adults they are not so much better than the albino pied or you would see pics with a ton of purple and you don't. All Lav combos take time to develop wich is part of the reason PE has not posted the Lav Clown yet. But from what I have seen the Lav snow has blown all the other lav combos away with the amount of color it already has. I think how it looks right now is so amazing it is hard to think it could get better. I know it gets my vote for best morph of 2009 with no question and probably best in the last few years as well.

I agree, as soon as I saw the lav snow I started looking for an axanthic to add to my lav project.

    Re: Possible DH Lav Snow

I think it's hard to judge a new morph until it is a few years old. The lav snow is beautiful as a hatchling, hopefully it will be more so as an adult. Same goes for individuals of some morphs: piebalds, pastels, ghosts, clowns....need to see how they look at breeding age before deciding if I like them!
Would you breed a wobbler dog even though it had a cool coat?

thats the big question right ?? what is it worth to you? It would be cool to say one day that you had the patience enough to hatch one out in the long run. If you are just planning on selling it and trying to make money off of it? probably not a good investment ... if you are doing it for the fun and hobby.. then yes.. I purchased DH VPI Snows ( Albino/Axanthic ) .. just for the fun of being able to produce Axanthics, Albinos and with the possiblity of producing a Snow..
