    my tegu have a basking lamp which reaches around 100f in a certain area so i think my tegu just looks for the right spot..

    snakes here i don't give heat since temperature in the room alone is around 87f-90f++, so nothing like a stainless steel water bowl couldn't fix for the cool spot. we'll here in the Philippines breeders here of BPs don't really mind the hot spot or cool spot thing.. obviously you haven't been to the Phil. sir,the climate here is almost exactly the same as they have in the wild (africa right?). been keeping these snakes for almost 3 years with no problem what so ever. "dont try to fix whats not broken and what works for you may not work with others." i always say but thats beside the point of the thread started here.
