    Red face New spider Ball!

so today, i was at Scales N Tails up in denver. i saw a cool little spider ball python. and i asked to see it. well what he took out was this little tiny hatchling spider ball. i checked him for mites: no mites, he was just slithering in my hands freely. He was beautiful to boot! the price on him was $249. seemed reasonable, but as a buyer, i asked him if he would take $189 for it... HE DID!!! great price for a great snake. (i held him for an hour and a half)! when i go him home i tried feeding, and amazingly he took it! a great feeder. i will get some photos of him up as soon as i can. also he weight 67g, and he is 3 months old. is that normal, is he a runt?

    Re: New spider Ball!

I just got a spider yesterday too. Mine is 2 years old though and I plan on breeding him as his colors are really nice for one his age. He weighed in at 734 grams =) Here are some fun pics of mine. Let's see yours.

    Re: New spider Ball!

Maybe he was a slow starter or wasnt being fed enough, or whatever other reason. Dont worry about it anymore if he is eating and he is in ur hands

If you feed him every 4-5 days, he should grow some in no time!

Seems like alot of people are getting spiders lately, including my self =)!

She is somewhere between 2-3months old.

    Re: New spider Ball!

They will grow at different rates..... But a 3 - 4 month old at 70 grams seems a little small. I have a female bel and a lesser male, both from same clutch hatched june 1st '09. Both were fed every five days for first three months, and are now on 7 day feeding schedule.....Bel weighs 678 grams and the lesser weighs 422 grams.....but just a note, they weighed more than 70 grams out of the egg......
