    Planning Ahead...

How far do most breeders plan in the future. When you purchase a morph how far down the line are you thinking. Or is it a case by case decision.

    Reason for my question is.....

I bought a 100% Het Ghost ball python. Cause I loved the look of the ghosts. Monk has a while before breeding size. But if you could pick anything to breed it with. What would it be?

Just want to get some ideas of what the Ghost is capable of.

Anything you want to put it to- the Hypo gives an opalescent glow to, can't go wrong with that.

My pastel is het Hypo as well...I've been thinking the same thing. I was hoping to find another morph that I was already looking for that happened to be het Hypo...no such luck yet. I would think breeders are looking as far ahead as possible.

    Re: Planning Ahead...

Well I have a pretty sweet idea of what I want to produce.

Lesser ghost and Mojave Ghost are part of this. That's why I picked up this summer a 08 ghost girl and a mojave het ghost. I also have some possible ghost in my collection. I hope to put my mojave het ghost to my lesser this year (well I already did, but is slow for now), in the hope of producing bel, mojave and lesser who are all possible ghost. If any chance, I might have some ready eventually.

This is one of the project, that will take time eventually. At the same time, I have a female fire that I hope to raise, and eventually put with a ghost male, that I might have. If I get lucky and produce fire het ghost male, I should have some ghost or het ghost female ready, hopefully some lesser or mojave ghost.

But there is soo much stuff that can happen, hard to say. The price might be so low eventually, that I will choose to buy one of these to get forward in my project instead of doing it all from the base. Or might completly change my mind.

But damn I need more ghost to work with

    Re: Planning Ahead...

As a breeder I have to think 3-4 years a head..this give my girls time to grow up and everything..So Things I pick up today are project 2-3 years from now..
