    Purchasing a Gram Scale--Few questions

So tonight I'm trying to get my mom to drive me to the store so I can purchase a gram scale. Here a few questions I have about the Gram Scale:

How much would a good Gram scale be? I heard somewhere around $30 for a good gram scale, but I'm just making sure. I have $60 left from my B-day so I'm really wanting to get a gram scale to see how much my snakes weigh.

What's the best place to purchase a gram scale? I heard Wal Mart has some pretty good prices and some pretty good scales there, so I might as well go there.

My last question is, do people really follow you home to see if you aren't trying to weigh drugs?? I'm trying to get my mom to drive me but she says that if you purchase a gram scale people will follow you home to make sure you aren't using it for drugs. I have never heard of that happening, and that is the only reason why she's not driving me to get it.

LOL, you can buy them in the kitchen section at Walmart. I'm fairly certain nobody would be following you home because of it
On a side note, you can find great deals online. Don't rush off to Walmart just yet, and we'll see what we can find.

    I use this one.http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VRLQFA/...SIN=B000VRLQFA

Well I'll be looking around at Wal Mart but if I don't find anything good then I'm most likely not going to purchase anything. Instead, I'll use the money to rent movies

No one is going to follow you home for buying a scale at WalMart.

Our scale lives on the coffee table, and I often joke that we look like drug dealers, but I'm pretty sure you're safe.

Now, if you buy a bunch of Sudafed at the same time...

Re: Purchasing a Gram Scale--Few questions

I seriously doubt anyone will follow you home just to make sure you aren't measuring drugs with your scale . . . if that were the case, why would they sell them to begin with? Besides that, people actually use them to weigh things in their kitchens (when cooking ).

I bought my scale off of amazon.com since I couldn't find any in local stores that weighed above 2,000 grams. I knew my biggest ball python was larger than that, and I wanted to accurately weigh her. I found one that weighs up to 5,000 grams; it is an Escali digital scale.

Reptilebasics.com also has some scales that weigh more than 2,000 grams. Not sure how big your ball pythons are, but if you have some big snakes, you may want a bigger scale than 2,000 grams anyway, so shopping locally may or may not benefit you.

I added a link to my last post after you quoted it. This one works well for me.

    I use this one.http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VRLQFA/...SIN=B000VRLQFA
    And I use this one:

However, either or are still going to be good options. Depends on exactly what you're looking for. Best of luck!

Re: Purchasing a Gram Scale--Few questions

The digital scale that I bought from Wal-Mart was around $27.00. It is a digital food scale and is located in the kitchen accessories section. You can change it from grams to ounces if you want to. It should come with a plastic holding bowl, which is fine for small snakes. I also picked up a 2 gallon Rubbermaid food storage container that I used for the larger ones. If someone follows you home... call the police...

Re: Purchasing a Gram Scale--Few questions

Last time I checked out Wally World, there was a gram scale for $30 in the kitchen supply department.

I bought mine from RBI because I freaking love RBI, and everything they sell is awesome. Seriously. But the one at Walmart would probably work just fine too!!
