for those of you with iris tubs...

i recently picked up an RBI CB70 rack with the Iris tubs and I feel like i am punching a lot of holes in them to keep my humidity levels where they should be at. This is the only rack I have so maybe I just don't know any better but if you happen to have one could you maybe post a pic of your tubs or tell me how many holes you poked??
also I use newspaper as a substrate cause its FREE! lol and the temps are around 89-90 hot side and 81-82 cold side
    Thanks!!

I have some of those too...I melted 12 holes each side...My humidity is running perfectly in the 55% range...What t-stat are you using, where did you put your probe and how did you get yours in that temp range?

Do you have a way to gauge the humidity? Really its a poke and play process, depending on the humidity inside the tub. Here in georgia the humidity stays just right in my house at around 50%, but since more forms in the tub it can get up there around 70%, so I poke as many holes I need to get back down to around 55%.

Start with about ten holes, check the humidity after a while with the water bowl in, and keep messing with it. If you live in an area with a normally low humidity youll need less holes, and vise versa.

I have 10 holes across the fron and 10 across the back. I use a hot glue gun instead of a soldering iron, the glue gun makes holes a bit larger than a pencil eraser.

Re: for those of you with iris tubs...

I am using an accurite thermometer/hyrgrometer in the tubs and a zilla thermostat that has been working pretty well with me. the probe for the thermostat is right on the heat tape and the accurite is in the tub. at last count there were 18 holes in two rows along each front and 8 along each side.
so i guess just add more holes til i get it right?
