Re: the cost of balls
Price are based on morph, sex and size (obviously older bigger animal ready to breed will be more expensive then hatchlings.)
Some states require licenses to sell at shows, you need research what your local regulations are, not only when it comes to selling but when it comes to owning as well.

Re: the cost of balls
What deb said about prices is absolutely correct.
As far as licensing to sell, i think in most states you are required to submit taxes to the IRS (in the US) if you make more than a certain amount of money doing or selling something. I do not know exactly what that amount is, as i've been told at least 5 different numbers.
Many people register a DBA (Doing business as) to allow them to legally sell something under a different name or business name. LLC's are also popular it seems.
Different states and counties have different laws on what you are aloud to keep so definitely check your local laws about reptile regulations.

Here's an example:
2009 Born Female Pastel - $150 - $250
2006 Born Female Pastel - $1200 - $1800
2009 Born Normal Female - $50 - $75
2006 Born Normal Female - $250 - $400
Prices vary depending on weight the heavier the more expensive. Hope that helps!

Re: the cost of balls
Hi,
Those 2006 prices seem a little on the high side. But I like your thinking....

The idea is right, but 2006 female pastel I would expect to see around 500-700, not 1200-1800.
And I usually see breeder normal females at about 200.

Re: the cost of balls
I know in my state no licenses is needed to sell any snake. Though if i have a registered DBA licenses and tax licenses then i must charge tax to all who live within in my site. Which then goes on to taxes. Other than that there really is no limit on how much you can make before paying any taxes in, Unless your registered as a business.

You have to remember, he's probably listing prices in Canada, and those prices sound about right.

In addition the price of ball pythons of all shapes and sizes changes every year (usually with morphs dropping in price).

Re: the cost of balls
Hey,
Here is something I notice about ball pricing. I am not sure it works on all but it has worked with me within 100.00. I notice that if you buy an 09 Pinstripe for 400.00. If you wanted to sell her 4 years later you will be able to sell her for that same price. Some morphs would sell more for sure. I bought an 08 female spinner last year and she is at breeding weight this year. I would not sell for anything she is just too valuable now. But with single codom and dominant and recessive snakes that works out pretty well. You can look at what I mean with 06 snakes that are on the market now. Their pricing is all around what you would have paid in 06 for a baby.
Regards,
Bill
