    Feeding question

I was just wondering if you could over feed a ball python. My husband and I have a 2009 hatchling, and she eats every 5-6 days. She strikes and eats them pretty quick, and I was in the mind that if she wasnt hungry she wouldnt eat. Is that right?

    Re: Feeding question

That sounds like a normal feeding routine to me. They will eat until they are full.

If she is eating the prey items quickly maybe it is time to up her prey size.

    Re: Feeding question

Thanks! I was pretty sure she was doing okay, I just wanted someone elses opinion. I was thinking about taking her to bigger mice, but as soon as she eats she goes into her hide rock to digest. I take that as her way of saying she is full LOL but I dunno. Thanks for the advice, we will try with bigger mice soon.

    Re: Feeding question

A hatchling will start on hopper mice and after a few meals can easily eat an adult mouse. I would switch for the next feeding. You would be amazed what they can eat!
