Like you said $350. The best thing to do in my opinion would be to buy 2 Female pastels HATCHLINGS and grow them up. By the time you are moving out or making decissions on your own about your living situation they will able to breed. You can buy the male (in this case a spider for bee's) somewhere between that time since they can breed younger. You will learn alot about them too.

If were in your situation I would go this way: try to save a little more and buy a female pastel and a female spider. Then buy a male pastel a little later. That way you have a shot at making bumble bees and super pastels down the road.

Dont jump to conclusions and kill a "child's" (for lack of a better word at the moment, is late and Im tired ) dream.

You all (meaning most) point out things in such a negative way! Give him some credit. At least he is trying to make a plan out of his future live, which I cant say the same about most people... Hell Im 26 and Im still trying to figure out what to keep studying!
Great advice. That is what i am doing right now!!! lol. Or trying to at least. I have a normal female and am trying to buy a pastel female. 09's then i want to get a pinstripe female as soon as i get money. Then im going to get one spider male once theyre big enough. Which leads me to say that they dont have to get both pastels if they dont want to. They could get something for a different combo they like.

I would just go with a female pastel and a female of something else that you like because when you actually do pastel x spider you are most likley going to get some pastels or spiders that you could use to breed instead of buying a new male. Or you could sell them for what ever your looking for. I wouldnt buy a female spider as an 09 to breed to a pastel. You dont really need two pastels and two spiders unless thats all you want to do is breed bumblebees, then you could still get along with just pastel females and one spider male.

I think you should just keep this as a hobby and not try to get into breeding until you are settled more, and by that time morphs will be much less expensive and much more available to the average keeper. I know it sucks, but sometimes waiting is definitely worth it. Good luck.
Most colleges only require freshmen to live on campus if they live far away from home. I have no idea of all campus rules but some may accept snakes. I wouldnt know. When I go to college I plan on keeping my snakes at home and driving home on the weekends since its only like an hour away. Then after a year or two I can look for an apartment/ rent place that allows pets. Or not. I might not even have to do that.
